Case review services generally range from $350 to $1,200+ depending on the records available and the amount of work required.

Starting prices reflect the minimum price for the listed service. Your exact price is based on the agreed scope of work and will be provided before paid work begins.

Focused Case Review

Best for clients who already have the primary records needed for the agreed review.

What is included

Review of records provided by the client
Review of basic case and procedural history contained in those materials
Identification of concerns, inconsistencies, or missing information found within the materials reviewed
Identification of areas that may warrant closer review
Concise written summary of the review

Scope limits

This service is a focused review of the materials provided. It does not include extensive outside record retrieval, extensive additional research, or preparation of motions or other court documents. If the materials provided reveal that substantially more records, research, or review are needed than originally anticipated, we will discuss available options and any additional cost before expanding the scope.

50% is required to begin work, with the remaining balance due according to the service agreement.

DEEPER REVIEW

Starting at $750

Detailed Case & Record Analysis

Best for clients who have discovery or substantial case records but need a deeper review and some additional case information may need to be located.

What is included

Detailed review of available discovery and case records
Organization of relevant case information
Development or reconstruction of procedural history
Review of available appellate decisions and court orders
Identification of missing or potentially important records
Comparison of available records for inconsistencies
Focused case-specific research necessary to complete the agreed scope of review
Detailed written findings or analysis

Scope limits

The exact scope will be established before work begins. The starting price is based on the anticipated scope after screening. Large records, extensive research, significant additional record retrieval, or work outside the original scope may require a revised quote. Additional charges will be discussed before additional paid work begins. Document or motion preparation is not automatically included unless specifically listed in the client’s written service agreement.

Comprehensive Review & Record Retrieval

Best for matters requiring substantial record location, organization, reconstruction, and review, particularly when the client has little or no usable case file.

Locating publicly available court and appellate records
Reviewing docket and procedural history
Identifying records that may need to be requested
Organizing available case materials
Building a detailed case timeline
Reviewing discovery and other available records
Comparing records for inconsistencies or missing information
Detailed case and record analysis
Written findings

Scope limits

Not every record is publicly available or obtainable. Legacy Motion Prep Services cannot guarantee that every requested record will be located or obtained and cannot compel courts, attorneys, agencies, or other record holders to provide records. The final scope is based on the records reasonably available and the work agreed upon before service begins. Document or motion preparation is not automatically included unless specifically listed in the service agreement.

Payment may be divided into three payments according to the service agreement. Outside record-copying charges, court fees, agency fees, postage, or other third-party costs may be separate when applicable and will be disclosed when known.

Document & Motion Preparation

Starting at $250

Document preparation is a separate service unless specifically included in a written service agreement. Legacy Motion Prep Services may assist with preparation and organization of pro se documents using the information, facts, records, requested document type, and supporting materials provided by the client.

Legacy Motion Prep Services does not choose legal strategy for clients, provide legal representation, or guarantee that a court will accept or grant any filing.

Clients remain responsible for reviewing, signing when required, and filing their own documents unless the written service agreement specifically provides otherwise.

Discovery & Record Organization

Quoted after Free Case Screening

Clients may request assistance organizing discovery, creating record inventories, arranging records chronologically, identifying apparent missing materials, and making large case files easier to navigate.

Organizational review does not automatically include a comprehensive case analysis.

Sentencing Record Review

Quoted after Free Case Screening

We may review available sentencing-related records, judgments, sentencing transcripts, presentence materials when available, and related case documents.

This service does not promise sentence reduction, resentencing, or a finding that a sentence is unlawful.

State Post-Conviction Support

Quoted after Free Case Screening

We provide certain pro se document preparation, record organization, case-history organization, and related support services for state post-conviction matters. Procedures vary significantly by state.

We do not promise eligibility for habeas, PCR, a new trial, resentencing, or other relief.

Federal Post-Conviction Support

Quoted after Free Case Screening

We provide certain pro se document preparation, record organization, sentencing-record review, case-history organization, and related support services for federal matters.

A screening does not determine qualification for relief under §2255, §2241, §3582, compassionate release, guideline amendments, or another federal procedure.

Review of Work You’ve Already Started

Starting at $250 depending on the document and scope.

For people who have already drafted or started a pro se filing or other case-related document. We provide paid document review for organization, clarity, formatting, consistency, and completeness based on the materials supplied.

This is not attorney review or legal approval.

Reentry & Parole Preparation

Quoted after Free Case Screening

Where applicable, we may assist with organizing reentry information, personal history, program participation, support materials, release-planning information, and parole-related preparation materials.

We do not guarantee parole, placement, early release, or any particular outcome.

Additional work & scope changes

Your service agreement covers a specific scope of work.

Additional research, additional documents, additional motions, new issues, new records, court responses, or other work requested after the original scope may require an additional fee.

Additional work is never automatically added to your service. If additional work is recommended or requested, you will receive pricing before that additional paid work begins.
